Job description

Science Teacher – Maternity Cover (York)
Location:York, North Yorkshire
Start Date:September 2025
Contract Type:Full-time, Fixed Term
Salary: £30,000 – £46,525 per annum (dependent on experience)

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a secondary school in Yorkto recruit a Science Teacherto cover maternity leave from September 2025.

This is a full-time role, teaching General Science across Key Stages 3 and 4. The position is expected to run for the full duration of the maternity leave and would suit either an experienced teacher or a newly qualified ECT.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold UK QTS (or equivalent)

  • Have experience teaching science in a UK secondary school

  • Deliver engaging, well-structured lessons across KS3 and KS4

  • Be committed to raising attainment and inspiring a love of science

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
