Science Teacher – Secondary School – Weymouth

Full-Time | Permanent | Starting ASAP

A dynamic and forward‑thinking secondary school in Weymouth, Dorset is seeking an enthusiastic Science Teacher to join their thriving Science department. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or a passionate ECT ready to begin their teaching career in a school that values curiosity, high standards, and continual development.

The Role

In this role, you will:
• Deliver engaging and well‑structured Science lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Support strong student progress through high‑quality teaching and a well‑designed curriculum
• Use assessment effectively to monitor learning and inform planning
• Create an inclusive, stimulating classroom environment where every learner can thrive
• Contribute to curriculum development and ongoing departmental improvement
• Participate in wider school life, including clubs, activities, and enrichment programmes

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will be:
• A qualified Science Teacher with QTS, or an ECT completing their training
• Confident in delivering Science across KS3 and KS4 (all specialisms welcome)
• Passionate about inspiring students through engaging, purposeful lessons
• Reflective, committed, and eager to grow professionally
• Able to build positive relationships and motivate learners of all abilities

Requirements

• QTS (or working towards QTS)
• Strong subject knowledge in Science
• Ability to teach confidently at KS3 and KS4
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students

This is an excellent opportunity for a Science Teacher looking to develop their career in a welcoming, successful, and supportive secondary school.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
