Experienced Science Teacher & Head of House – Secondary School – Weymouth – September 2025 Start – Paid to Scale

A well-established secondary school in Weymouth is seeking an experienced and passionate Science Teacher to join their team from September 2025. This exciting role combines high-quality classroom teaching with leadership responsibilities as Head of House, offering a unique opportunity to influence both academic progress and student wellbeing.

 Role Overview:

  • Teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, with a strong emphasis on curriculum depth, clarity, and progress.

  • Take on Head of House responsibilities, providing leadership and pastoral care that supports student wellbeing and engagement.

  • Develop and maintain positive, trusting relationships with students, staff, and families to support academic success and wellbeing.

  • Collaborate closely with colleagues to plan and deliver effective teaching strategies and assessments.

  • Support whole-school initiatives that promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Candidate Profile:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with significant experience teaching Science up to GCSE level.

  • Strong curriculum knowledge with a passion for delivering engaging, knowledge-rich lessons.

  • Pastoral leadership experience, ideally as a Head of House or in a similar role, or a strong readiness and enthusiasm to step into this responsibility.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and foster positive relationships with young people and the wider school community.

  • Resilient, reflective, and committed to the ongoing personal and professional development of both students and staff.
