Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated Science Teacher to join a specialist Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) school in Wandsworth. This unique role involves working with students who exhibit challenging behaviour, helping them re-engage with education in a supportive and structured environment.
The Role:

Deliver engaging and differentiated Science lessons (KS3 & KS4) tailored to students with SEMH needs.

Manage challenging behaviour with a trauma-informed approach, promoting positive engagement.

Work closely with support staff, therapists, and pastoral teams to create a nurturing learning environment.

Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs, ensuring progress and confidence-building.

Contribute to the development of a curriculum that fosters both academic and personal growth.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching experience in the UK.

Experience teaching Science (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics) at secondary level.
-
A strong behaviour management background, ideally within SEMH, PRUs, or alternative provision.
-
Resilience, patience, and a passion for supporting vulnerable young people.

The ability to build strong relationships with students who have experienced trauma or disengagement.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
