This school located in the B91 postcode is searching for an inspiring Science teacher looking to change the lives of students. From September 2023 this academy will be bringing on a successful candidate to be an important part of their team.

Position: Science teacher
Location: Solihull
Start Date: September 2023
Contract: Full-time
Salary: £140 - £220 daily

Role and Responsibilities:

  • You would be expected to teach science to a range of levels, including GCSE and Functional Skills.
  • Frequently liaise with the Head of Department to discuss ways to develop the curriculum
  • Offer 1-to-1s to students where needed 
  • Frequently meet with the Teaching Assistants/technicians to ensure you are providing a top quality learning experience and discuss how you can make lessons more engaging
  • Mark and assign casework to students to maximise their learning potential

The ideal candidate will have: 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Degree in Science or a related field
  • Proven experience teaching Science at secondary level, preferably within a mainstream school
  • Have an enhanced DBS on the Update Service
  • Understanding and knowledge of the UK national curriculum
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to develop a love for Science and achieve their academic goals

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
