Science Teacher – Durham Secondary School

Full time permanent position, MPS/UPS salary 

Teaching Personnel is seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join a vibrant Durham secondary school. This is an opportunity to be part of a dynamic team committed to providing high quality education and fostering a love for science among students.

What you'll be doing:

  • Planning and delivering engaging and challenging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Developing and implementing schemes of work in line with the national curriculum
  • Assessing, monitoring, and reporting on student progress
  • Using innovative teaching methods to support and inspire students of all abilities
  • Maintaining high standards of classroom management
  • Participating in departmental meetings, parents' evenings, and whole school training events
  • Supporting the school's commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students

You need:

  • QTS or equivalent
  • A degree in a relevant science discipline (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
  • Experience teaching science at secondary level (KS3 and KS4)
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for science education
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Commitment to continuous professional development

The school offers competitive salary within the Main Pay Scale/Upper Pay Scale range, opportunities for career progression and professional development, and a supportive and collaborative working environment.

Contract: Full time, permanent
