Job description

A mainstream secondary school in Bournemouth is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join their successful department from Easter 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified teacher to become part of a supportive and forward-thinking school community. The position is available on either a full-time or part-time basis for the right candidate.

The school prides itself on delivering a broad and engaging curriculum that inspires curiosity and fosters a love of learning. The Science department is well-resourced, collaborative and committed to achieving strong outcomes across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential for Key Stage 5 teaching for suitably experienced applicants.

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Have experience teaching Science across KS3 and KS4 (Biology, Chemistry or Physics specialisms welcomed)

  • Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a passion for Science

  • Be committed to high standards of teaching, learning and student progress

  • Contribute positively to the wider life of the school

Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are welcome to apply, as well as experienced practitioners seeking a new challenge. The school offers a supportive leadership team, strong departmental collaboration and excellent opportunities for professional development.

This role would suit a motivated and reflective practitioner who is keen to make a real impact within a thriving mainstream secondary setting.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
