Support Worker - York

Do you hold a Moving and Handling Qualification?
Have you worked with children or adults with a range of additional needs or disabilities?
Then I have the ideal role for you!

The Role:

Working at a Primary SEN School in York that caters for children with a range of additional needs. These include Physical Disabilities, Autism, MLD, SLD, PMLD, Downs Syndrome & SEMH. You will be responsible for supporting pupils within classes, supervising outside playtimes and using lifts and hoists as and when required. The School book for support staff on a regular basis, for day to day, medium term and long term cover requirements. The school have previously taken staff on to a permanent contract, so there is the opportunity of a career within an OFSTED graded ‘Good’ School.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Worked within the Health Care or Education Sectors for at least 6 months
  • Experienced working with vulnerable children or adults that required additional support with day to day activities or with moving to/from wheelchairs etc
  • Hold a Moving and Handling Certificate/Qualification
  • Be able to provide a full 6 year career history with details of referees from your two most recent employees
  • Be enthusiastic, energetic and a can-do attitude

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
