JOB ROLE: School Social Worker (Senior Leader)
LOCATION: Colne, Lancashire
SALARY: £36,298 - £41,496 (pro rata to term time only)
CONTRACT: Full-time, part-time considered. Temporary to permanent contract.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and innovative Social Worker to join one of our partnership secondary schools. This is a particularly exciting time to join the Trust; as they go through many positive changes with a real emphasis on student success. The school is a growing; with increasing numbers on roll due to the schools success.
The School Social Worker's responsibilities include providing information to students, parents, and school staff, Counselling students with personal and psychological issues, and addressing relevant issues in the school, such as school attendance, illegal drugs, teen pregnancy, and social adjustment issues.
School Social Workers’ daily activities range from counselling to administrative work. You will coordinate with parents, Teachers, and students to assess and resolve the student’s behavioural issues and social problems.
Some of your main responsibilities include:
- Creating a plan to help students function in a school environment.
- Participating in the SEN (Special Education Needs) process as necessary.
- Working closely with school staff, health professionals and other community agencies.
- Maintaining accurate case files and reports to track students’ issues and progress.
- Facilitating communication between students, parents, Teachers, and Administrators.
- Assessing areas where students need additional help and support.
- Supporting students’ safety and taking appropriate action to protect them when necessary.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
