A school in Stockport is looking for a motivated individual to take on the role of School Librarian.
This presents itself as the ideal opportunity for an individual looking to join the support staff in a on an initial temporary basis.
- Graduates
- Those who have prior experience within a library setting.
- Those who have worked with young people in the development of general literacy.
It is essential that the required applicant will:
- Have a passion for reading, as well as Literature in general.
- A degree (preferable, though not essential)
- GCSE pass in English Literature.
The position will begin after Christmas and will run through until the end of the academic year in 2021.
It is essential that the individual will:
- Ensuring and maintaining school and specific library polices, acting as a role model at all times.
- Consider health and safety practices as well as being vigilant when it comes to enforcing behaviour procedures.
- Develop strong relationships with students and other staff members.
- Ensure that the libraries resources are consistently updated, working with other teaching staff to obtain specific material when necessary.
- Competently use library software, as well as work in collaboration with student librarians.
- Actively promote and encourage students to use the library in order to readily improve academic attainment and progression.
The school’s location is a short distance from Manchester city centre. There are numerous public transport links within close proximity to the school itself, as well as multiple motorway links. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
