Job Title: School Administrator (Fridays Only)
Location: Wirral (SEMH School)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract: Part-time, Term-Time Only (Fridays)
Start Date: [Insert Start Date or ASAP]

A specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school based in the Wirral is seeking a committed and experienced School Administrator to work on Fridays only. This part-time role offers an opportunity to support a dedicated team in a rewarding and inclusive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a professional and welcoming front-of-house service for staff, pupils, parents, and visitors

  • Manage incoming communications, including phone calls, emails, and face-to-face enquiries

  • Maintain and update student records using SIMS (School Information Management System)

  • Monitor attendance and follow up on absences through SIMS and direct communication with families

  • Process student admissions, leavers, and transfers on SIMS

  • Offer administrative support to the senior leadership team and teaching staff

  • Prepare and distribute school correspondence, reports, and other documentation

  • Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed, including logging and monitoring visitors

  • Assist with ordering supplies and general office management

  • Carry out data entry, filing, and other routine administrative tasks

  • Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism

  • Liaise with external agencies and support staff where appropriate

Requirements:

  • Previous experience using SIMS is essential

  • Experience working in a school setting, ideally within an SEMH or SEN environment

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

  • Competent in using Microsoft Office applications

  • An understanding of safeguarding procedures within a school setting is desirable

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
