SEN Teaching Assistant (Experienced)
Location: Wirral
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Contract: Full-time and Permanent
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team and support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with children who present challenging behaviours, and will be confident in implementing strategies to promote positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN, including those with complex needs.
- Assist in managing challenging behaviours using positive behaviour support techniques.
- Work closely with teachers and SENCO to deliver tailored learning plans.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Monitor and record pupil progress, reporting to the class teacher and SENCO.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or similar role.
- Strong understanding of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH needs.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, SEN training, Team Teach) desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
