We have an exciting opportunity for a Residential Graduate Sports and Boarding Assistant at a prestigious independent school located in the picturesque city of Chichester. Position: Residential Graduate Sports and Boarding Assistant

Location: Chichester, West Sussex

Start Date: September 2023

Contract Type: Full-Time (live-in)

About the School: Our client is a highly regarded independent school renowned for its commitment to providing a well-rounded education, combining academic excellence with a supportive and enriching boarding experience. The school's beautiful campus offers state-of-the-art sports facilities and a nurturing environment for both students and staff.

Role Overview: As the Residential Graduate Sports and Boarding Assistant, you will play a vital role in the school community, supporting both the sports department and the boarding house. You will work closely with students, fostering their athletic abilities, and providing them with guidance and care within the boarding house.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the sports department in organising and delivering engaging sports activities, both during lessons and extracurricular sessions.
  • Providing one-on-one support and coaching to students, helping them develop their skills and passion for sports.
  • Assisting with the organisation and supervision of school sports events, competitions, and fixtures.
  • Contributing to the pastoral care and overall well-being of boarding students.
  • Ensuring a safe and supportive environment within the boarding house, acting as a mentor and role model for the students.
  • Participating in evening and weekend duties as required on a rota basis.
  • Collaborating with other staff members to create a positive and inspiring learning environment.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Sports Science, Physical Education, or similar).
  • Genuine passion for sports and experience in coaching or assisting with sports activities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with young individuals.
  • A compassionate and caring nature, with a genuine interest in the well-being of boarding students.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Willingness to participate in boarding duties on a rotational basis.
  • An enhanced DBS check (or the willingness to obtain one) is mandatory.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
