The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and inspiring Religious Education Teacher to join our thriving Humanities department. You will play a key role in helping students explore faith, ethics, philosophy, and the role of religion in modern society—encouraging curiosity, empathy, critical thinking, and respect for diverse beliefs and worldviews.

Key Responsibilities

-          Deliver engaging and well‑structured RE lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

-          Plan and adapt lessons to challenge, support, and motivate students of mixed abilities.

-          Prepare students for GCSE Religious Studies through high‑quality teaching, feedback, and targeted intervention.

-          Contribute to the development of schemes of work within the Humanities department.

-          Promote a positive classroom environment that reflects the school’s Catholic ethos and values.

-          Participate in enrichment activities, chaplaincy events, and cross‑curricular projects that support students’ personal and spiritual development.

 

What We’re Looking For

-          QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent.

-          Strong subject knowledge and passion for Religious Education, ethics, and philosophy.

-          Excellent communication and classroom management skills.

-          A reflective, proactive approach and commitment to ongoing professional development.

-          Alignment with the school’s values and willingness to contribute to its Catholic ethos.
