RE Lead (Temporary to Permanent)
Location: Chorley, Lancashire
Start Date: 1st December
Contract: Full-Time, Temporary to Permanent
Salary: MPS/UPS + TLR (dependent on experience)

We are seeking an inspirational and committed RE Lead to join our secondary school in Chorley from 1st December on a temporary to permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate Religious Education specialist to take the next step in their career and lead the subject area with vision and purpose.

As RE Lead, you will be responsible for the planning and delivery of an engaging and well-balanced Religious Education curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will support the academic and personal development of students through thought-provoking lessons that encourage reflection, respect, and a deeper understanding of faith, belief, and ethics.

You will lead and inspire a small team of staff, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning while promoting the subject’s importance across the wider school. You’ll also play a key role in tracking student progress, supporting departmental planning, and contributing to whole-school priorities.

The ideal candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have experience teaching Religious Education at secondary level. You should bring strong subject knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead and motivate others. A proven track record of raising attainment and contributing to curriculum development is desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
