Here at Teaching Personnel, we have had a request from one of our Catholic client schools for a full time Teaching Assistant to work with 2 pupils in EYFS.
The role involves working with 2 boys in the EYFS department, both children have social interaction difficulties and will involve helping them develop this with their peers. One child is in reception and has Asperger’s and the other boy is in nursery and has Autism. The school are looking for someone who has experience or training on supporting pupils with autism.
The Catholic school is in St Helens and is rated as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted, where the Headteacher, ably supported by the Deputy Headteacher, has a firm and resolute determination to continually strive to improve pupils’ outcomes. Staff morale is high; staff share the Headteacher’s vision and work well together for the benefit of the pupils and the wider community.
Teaching across both Nursery and Reception classes is consistently good. Communication between them is effective and ensures that there is a smooth transition between Nursery and Reception. Staff work well collaboratively and make effective use of the space both indoors and outdoors. The school have excellent facilities for pupils with SEN and the children make excellent progress due to specific one to one support.
