Reception Class Teacher – September 2026 Start

Full Academic Year | M1–M6 Pay Scale

A welcoming and community-focused primary academy in Yeovil is seeking an enthusiastic, nurturing, and committed Reception Class Teacher to join their dedicated Early Years team from September 2026 for the full academic year.

The academy provides a supportive and inclusive environment where children are encouraged to become confident, motivated, and happy learners. The Successful Candidate Will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have experience within EYFS or Reception
  • Demonstrate excellent classroom practice and behaviour management
  • Have strong knowledge of the EYFS Framework
  • Create engaging, inclusive, and inspiring learning environments
  • Be committed to supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of pupils
  • Work effectively as part of a collaborative team

Safeguarding & Vetting

All successful applicants will be subject to comprehensive safeguarding and vetting checks carried out by Teaching Personnel in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance. This will include:

  • An Enhanced DBS check registered to the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Verification of identity and right to work in the UK
  • Professional references covering the last two years
  • Qualification and teaching status checks
  • Overseas police checks where applicable
  • Online safeguarding checks as part of the recruitment process

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
