Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant - Sunderland
Teaching Personnel are currently seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic psychology graduate to join our team as a Teaching Assistant in a Secondary School in Sunderland. As a teaching assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the classroom teacher in delivering high-quality education to students.
The ideal candidate will have completed a degree in psychology and have gained knowledge and skills that are transferable to the role of teaching assistant. You should have excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively as part of a team, and have a passion for working with young people.
The role is to start from after October half-term 2023, but has the potential to start sooner subject to completion of vetting checks.
Key responsibilities:
- Supporting the classroom teacher in planning and delivering lessons
- Assisting with the preparation of teaching materials
- Working with individual students or small groups to provide additional support where needed
- Helping to maintain a safe and positive learning environment
- Undertaking administrative tasks as required
Essential requirements:
- A degree in psychology or a related subject
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A passion for working with young people
Desirable requirements:
- Previous experience working in a school or educational setting
- Knowledge of child development and learning theories
- Experience working with students with special educational needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
