Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (Levenshulme)

Are you a recent Psychology graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in a school setting? A supportive and inclusive secondary school in Levenshulme is seeking a motivated and empathetic Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team from September.

This role is ideal for aspiring educational psychologists, SEN specialists, or those considering a future in teaching or child and adolescent mental health.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with additional needs, including those with EHCPs, ASD, ADHD, and SEMH

• Assist teaching staff in delivering lessons and adapting materials to meet diverse learning needs

• Help students develop social, emotional, and behavioural strategies

• Work closely with the SENCO, pastoral team, and external professionals

• Support the creation of a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment

Ideal Candidate:

• A Psychology graduate (2:2 or above) with a strong interest in child development or SEN

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Calm, patient, and resilient, with a passion for supporting young people

• Previous experience working or volunteering with children or vulnerable groups is highly desirable
