We are looking for a motivated and caring Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN primary school in Coventry. This full-time position (Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm) offers an exciting opportunity to work with pupils aged 2–11 who have a range of complex learning needs, including autism, communication difficulties, and social, emotional or behavioural challenges.

As part of a dedicated and nurturing team, you’ll provide 1:1 and small group support, helping children engage in learning, build confidence, and reach their full potential. Some pupils may also require support with aspects of personal care, so flexibility and a compassionate approach are essential.

This role would suit a graduate with an understanding of psychology and child development, and a strong interest in special educational needs. You’ll gain valuable hands-on experience within a well-resourced and inclusive setting that prides itself on supporting every child to thrive.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Psychology or a related subject (or equivalent relevant experience)

  • A genuine interest in supporting children with additional needs

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build trusting relationships with pupils

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting teaching staff with lesson delivery and classroom activities

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual pupil needs

  • Encouraging engagement and participation in learning

  • Monitoring progress and offering constructive feedback to staff

If you’re a Psychology graduate (or have relevant experience) seeking to make a lasting impact in a supportive SEN environment, we would love to hear from you.
