PSHE Teacher
Job description
The Role:
-
Deliver engaging lessons to students aged 13–21 with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs
-
Teach a flexible timetable across subjects such as PSHE, Life Skills, and core subjects (or specialism)
-
Plan, adapt, and deliver personalised learning for pupils with EHCPs and varying ability levels
-
Build strong, consistent relationships with students who have experienced trauma or disruption
-
Support students in developing emotional regulation, confidence, and key life skills
-
Work closely with support staff, SENCOs, and therapeutic teams

Specialist SEMH provision for secondary and post-16 learners

Small class sizes and high support ratio

Therapeutic, trauma-informed environment

Focus on emotional wellbeing, re-engagement in learning, and preparation for adulthood
Ideal Candidate:
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or relevant post-16 teaching qualification
-
Experience working in SEMH, PRU, or alternative provision (desirable but not essential)
-
Strong classroom management and behaviour support skills
-
Passionate about inclusive education and supporting vulnerable learners
-
Calm, resilient, and empathetic approach
-
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
