PSHE Teacher

The Role:

• Deliver engaging lessons to students aged 13–21 with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs

• Teach a flexible timetable across subjects such as PSHE, Life Skills, and core subjects (or specialism)

• Plan, adapt, and deliver personalised learning for pupils with EHCPs and varying ability levels

• Build strong, consistent relationships with students who have experienced trauma or disruption

• Support students in developing emotional regulation, confidence, and key life skills

• Work closely with support staff, SENCOs, and therapeutic teams

The Setting:

• Specialist SEMH provision for secondary and post-16 learners

• Small class sizes and high support ratio

• Therapeutic, trauma-informed environment

• Focus on emotional wellbeing, re-engagement in learning, and preparation for adulthood

Ideal Candidate:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or relevant post-16 teaching qualification

• Experience working in SEMH, PRU, or alternative provision (desirable but not essential)

• Strong classroom management and behaviour support skills

• Passionate about inclusive education and supporting vulnerable learners

• Calm, resilient, and empathetic approach

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
