Job description

Inspire Young Minds as a Primary Tutor in Hull

At TP Tutors, we believe every child deserves the chance to thrive—and that starts with the right support. We're on the lookout for dedicated and passionate Primary Tutors in Hull and the surrounding areas to help pupils build confidence, close learning gaps, and reach their full potential.

Whether it’s supporting early reading, building numeracy skills, or helping a pupil rediscover their love for learning, your role will be a key part of a young learner’s journey.

Location: Hull and surrounding areas
Pay: £25 – £30 per hour
Driving Licence: Preferred (some sessions take place in homes or libraries)

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver engaging 1:1 or small group tuition sessions for Primary-aged pupils

  • Plan and adapt lessons based on individual learning needs and goals

  • Create a safe, inclusive, and motivating learning environment

  • Work closely with families and schools to provide consistent academic support

  • Always follow safeguarding protocols to ensure pupil wellbeing

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with Primary-aged children (in schools, tutoring, or similar roles)

  • Strong understanding of the Primary National Curriculum

  • A flexible, patient, and encouraging teaching style

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)

  • UK teaching experience is a plus, but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
