Location: Yeovil
Hours: Full-time, Part-time, or Day-to-Day (8:30am – 3:30pm)
Pay: £13.75 per hour

Ready to make every school day extraordinary?

At Teaching Personnel, we’re looking for passionate, caring, and proactive Teaching Assistants to join our wonderful partner primary schools across Yeovil. If you love helping children shine, thrive, and achieve their very best — and you thrive in a lively, rewarding classroom environment — this could be your perfect next step.

What You’ll Be Doing

No two days are ever the same — and that’s exactly what makes this role so special! You’ll:

  • Support pupils aged 4–11 through creative, hands-on learning, and provide nurturing 1:1 support for children with additional needs.
  • Work closely with teachers to bring lessons to life — teamwork makes every classroom stronger!
  • Build warm, positive relationships that inspire confidence and curiosity.
  • Adapt, engage, and encourage — helping every child to find their spark.

What We’re Looking For

We’d love to hear from you if you’re:

  • Experienced in working with children aged 4–11 (in schools or childcare settings) — though we also welcome applicants with relevant personal experience.
  • Confident supporting pupils of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.
  • A natural communicator who can build great connections with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Positive, flexible, and full of enthusiasm!
  • Able to provide two professional references and hold (or be willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.

Why Work with Teaching Personnel?

  • Flexibility that fits your lifestyle – choose from short-term, long-term, or day-to-day roles that suit your schedule.
  • Exclusive access to our Teaching Personnel app – manage your diary, school bookings, and payslips with ease.
  • Free professiotakenal development – including Safeguarding, Prevent Duty, and Thrive training (we’re the only agency offering this nationally recognised qualification!).
  • Dedicated support – your personal consultant will be with you every step of the way.
  • Opportunities to grow – many of our roles lead to permanent positions in fantastic schools.

Our Commitment

We’re passionate about creating safe, supportive environments where both children and educators can flourish. Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, following DfE guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education. All applicants will undergo thorough background checks, including an online search as part of our due diligence.
