Primary Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting Teaching Assistants to work within our Tavistock based Primary Schools.  This is an incredible opportunity to work in various educational settings, exposing you to a range of different schools and classes, to help you find the one you love!

The Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the class, under the direction of the Class Teacher. Your roles would include supporting whole class teaching, working with small groups of children or in a 1:1 capacity. Therefore, you need to be confident with leading activities and tailoring your support to best impact the children’s progress.

Qualifications and Skills:

• At least a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification and/or relevant school experience. 
• Previous experience working with children or young people in education settings.
• Experience managing behaviour and following behaviour strategies.
• Have a unique and creative approach to their teaching and learning.

Requirements:

• Up to date DBS certificate on the update service (or be willing to complete a new one)
• Relevant child/young adult support experience
• Confidence to take the lead with activities and tailor support for children.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
