Primary Teaching Assistant for Challenging Behaviour - SEND

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with an SEND provision in Darlington who are seeking a Teaching Assistant on a full time basis, to commence at the start of May, working with students who display challenging behaviour.

The role will involve working on a 1:1 basis with pupils across Key Stages 1 and 2 who have various SEND, the students are in need of extra support and guidance within their lesson time. The main aspect of the role will be helping the students to engage with their learning, and encouraging personal and social development whilst managing challenging behaviour in lesson time. You will be expected to monitor children's personal progress within lessons, and you will have regular meetings with the class teacher to discuss this and to provide support for yourself within the role. This SEND school has a particular focus on behaviour management, and the successful candidate will play a large role in fulfilling this ethos.

The client school welcomes candidates with backgrounds in education, youth/social work, counselling and graduates. You will be passionate about improving the lives of young people and have a strong desire to work with SEND.

Teaching Personnel can offer Teaching Assistant's competitive pay rates of up to £65 per day. We have an upcoming Team Teach training course which will highly benefit you in this role when responding to challenging behaviour. You will be supported by a specialist team of SEN recruitment consultants with education backgrounds, who are well placed to enrol you onto your desired courses.
