Due to an upcoming gap, our client secondary school are looking for a skilled practitioner of primary education to join them and help support students who are struggling with the transition into a secondary setting and help in the process of making them ‘secondary ready.’

This position would be ideal for a confident teacher trained in Primary looking to gain experience in secondary, or a teacher originally trained in secondary with recent experience in primary settings.

  • Full time teaching, Monday – Friday each week

  • Support and provisions in place to allow for smooth transition for new starter
  • Good accessibility to surrounding areas such as Bacup, Rawtenstall and Haslingden
  • Easter 2020 start date
  • Payment in line with MPS

The upcoming role (full time teaching) is predominantly to teach 'catch-up' classes for students in years 7 and 8. The classes are small classes for students who have come into school below the expected minimum standards in English and Maths. The role of successful teacher is to liaise with the English and Maths departments to provide a curriculum that allows these students to improve both their basic literacy and numeracy skills so that, in time, they will be able to access the same curriculum as their peers.
