Daily Rate: £172.98

Teaching Personnel is delighted to be working in partnership with a welcoming and forward-thinking primary school in the Newport area. The school is seeking a committed Year 2 Teacher to join their team from April/May in a full-time role. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference at a key stage in pupils’ learning within a supportive and inclusive school community.
About the Role
As a Year 2 Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping pupils’ academic and personal development during an important stage of their primary journey. You will deliver engaging and creative lessons while fostering a positive classroom environment where every child feels supported and motivated to succeed.
Pay: £172.98 per day
Start Date: April / May
Contract: Full-time
Location: Newport
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a teacher who is:

A confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
-
Enthusiastic, engaging, and approachable with a strong classroom presence
-
Highly organised with strong planning and time-management abilities
-
Passionate about education and committed to pupil progress and wellbeing
-
Knowledgeable about safeguarding responsibilities
-
Skilled in behaviour management and creating positive learning environments
-
Experienced with the Primary Curriculum, particularly Key Stage 1
Key Responsibilities
-
Plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons tailored to Year 2 pupils
-
Monitor and support pupils’ academic progress and emotional development
-
Create a nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
-
Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and colleagues
-
Follow safeguarding and health & safety procedures at all times
-
Implement effective behaviour management strategies
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
-
An Enhanced DBS (Child Workforce) registered on the Update Service
-
Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
-
The legal right to work in the UK

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
