Primary Teacher – Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) – Full Time – L6 Liverpool
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and resilient Primary Teacher to join a dedicated team at a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) located in the L6 area of Liverpool. This full-time role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children who require additional support outside of mainstream education.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a broad and balanced curriculum to primary-aged pupils who may present with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, challenging behaviours, or other barriers to learning. The role requires a nurturing approach, strong behaviour management skills, and a commitment to helping every child reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Work closely with support staff, parents/carers, and external agencies.
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting strategies as needed.
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
Essential Qualities and Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience working with pupils with SEMH needs or in alternative provision settings is highly desirable.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Empathetic, patient, and resilient nature.
- Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils and colleagues.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
