Job description

Primary schools across the Chorlton area are seeking several Learning Support Assistants to join their teams, with roles available immediately. Positions include full‑time and part‑time work, covering emergency cover, short‑term and long‑term absences, as well as ongoing staffing requirements.

These schools are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic about supporting children’s learning and who are committed to helping pupils thrive in a nurturing environment. School experience is not essential; however, a genuine passion for supporting young people, strong communication skills, and a positive, patient approach are key. In this role, you will work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to assist in the classroom, build positive relationships with pupils, and encourage positive behaviour and engagement.

Chorlton schools welcome applicants from a wide range of backgrounds. Whether you are an experienced SEN support assistant, a graduate seeking school-based experience, or someone with a background in care, youth work, or supporting individuals with additional needs, you are encouraged to apply. Experience with SEN is desirable but not required.

If you are interested in joining supportive, community‑focused schools and making a meaningful impact on children’s development, please get in touch to discuss the available roles.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
