SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Rochdale
✅Pay: Competitive, based on experience
Contract: Full-time / Part-time options available

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with complex needs? Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school environment where every child is valued and encouraged to reach their full potential. You will be supporting children with additional needs such as High-level Autism, non-verbal, Profound and multiple learning disabilities, physical disabilities and struggles with their speech and language.

About the Role

  • Work closely with teachers and other professionals to deliver tailored learning and care plans.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to help students achieve their goals.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
  • Deliver 1:1 and group interventions to support children in the social and academic development
  • Adapt learning materials and approach to suit individual needs
  • Ensure that the safety and wellbeing of each student is met.
  • Support with personal care when required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach.
  • DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Safeguarding training (provided by Teaching Personnel)
  • At least two employment references from the last 24 months

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
