Teaching Assistant

  • £9.50 - £10.50 p/h depending on experience

Our client school have an urgent need for a SEMH teaching assistant to join them on a temporary basis, supporting a number of key students for the start of the next academic year. The position requires someone with previous experience supporting SEMH students in a school or non education setting.

- Weekly pay from £300 - £350 per week

- Providing 1:1 support to SEMH in mainstream education

- South Preston based secondary school with modern facilities throughout

- Full time position from September 2019

Situated slightly South West of Preston, our client school is a large and modern secondary academy with outstanding provisions for learning, with students able to work in the Pupil Services Unit which has been specially designed with teaching and learning at the forefront for students with additional needs. The school has recently seen an improvement in results, with last years GCSE results the best ever achieved, which can be accredited to the improvements in all key areas including teaching and learning, along with behaviour and safety of students.

Highlights of the position as a SEMH teaching assistant;

- Providing 1:1 and small group intervention to students aged 11-16

- Providing social and pastoral care to students from a range of backgrounds

- Gain an understanding in supporting students who display challenging behaviour
