Our client school in Preston are seeking a TA to offer support to students aged 4-19 in a specialist setting.
The school caters for pupils with PMLD, ASC, SLD and Complex Medical Needs. You will ideally have experience in this area and if not, you must have a strong desire to make a difference to the lives of children who require a high level of support. This support will include toileting, feeding and changing, as well as full classroom support. You must be proactive and engaging, with a fun and upbeat personality, and the ability to think on your feet / work on your own initiative.
The role of an SEN Teaching Assistant can be demanding and challenging at times, given the severe needs of some of the students, however it is one of the most rewarding and fulfilling job roles if you have a passion for working with young people. We are therefore looking for a special type of candidate who has the ability to not only create a safe and warm learning environment but who can engage the young people through varying means including sensory activities, learning through play, hydrotherapy and outdoor education.
Some of the young people may exhibit challenging behaviours and you must therefore be confident in dealing with these behaviours if you wish to be considered.
This role would ideally suit a candidate with experience however, we have previously taken on candidates whom we can really see have an intense passion for working with children with SEN and whom we believe can make a difference to the lives of these individuals.
The working hours will be 8:30 - 3:30, Monday - Friday, term time only.
It takes a really special person to support the needs of these wonderful children. If this is you, please send me a copy of your CV ASAP!
All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
