2x SEN Experienced Secondary Teaching Assistants Needed

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a special school which caters for over 200 pupils and students from 4-19 with profound, severe and complex learning needs (PSCN). The school is divided into Early Years, Primary, Secondary and 6th Form. The school also supports an Observation and Assessment Unit (pre-school children) and an Inclusion Development and Support Centre. The new purpose built building boasts excellent resources and the school has many successful, established links with the community and is located in Sittingbourne

This positions have arisen due to increased headcount on the school roll and the opening of an additional class to support this group. All applicants must have recent experience working with children with special educational needs, in either a primary school or specialist SEN environment. The classes consists of no more than 8 pupils with a broad range of learning difficulties and complex needs and consist of mainly Autistic students. You would be working alongside a very experienced LSA who is very supportive, friendly and hardworking. You will also benefit from the schools exceptional CPD and in house training schemes. The ideal candidate would have:

A proven record of teaching SEN students with a range of needs

A good understanding of P levels

The ability to prepare and teach effective lessons taking into account the individual needs of learners

Have a basic understanding of PECS and Makaton

Registered DBS or be prepared to carry out a new DBS application
