Teaching Personnel are working closely with a specialist school in Burnley who are looking to appoint an experienced Teaching Assistant to join their successful and friendly team.
The school caters for pupils aged 3-19 with complex physical and sensory impairments. It will be your role to support pupils to access a highly bespoke and tailored curriculum. You must have experience of supporting young people or adults with physical disabilities and/or additional needs, cognitive disabilities and complex needs. Some pupils in school will be non-verbal and have relatively severe disabilities. You will be comfortable providing personal care and will ideally possess a Moving and Handling certificate (although this training can be provided).
It is essential that you have the ability to differentiate and adapt learning resources to meet individual pupil needs. You will have a holistic and person centred approach and the flexibility to address and respond to social, emotional and personal needs.
You will have excellent communication skills and the desire to improve learning experiences for those with additional needs in a specialist setting.
