We are looking for a Play Worker to support in a primary school in pupils who experience severe or profound difficulties in learning. The school supports the growth and development of pupils aged 2-11 and is responsible for devising personalised curriculums for the achievement of each child. In addition to this, the schools have a multi-professional approach to their pupils by providing speech, language and physiotherapists combined with creative approaches from musicians and sports coaches.

All of this is then further supplemented with high range equipment targeted at SEN pupils including soft rooms and hydrotherapy pools.  The school require a Play Worker to match their ethos and values so the ideal candidate should have:

  • A patient, calm and caring personality
  • Experience of working with SEN environment particularly with experience severe or profound difficulties in learning including Autism
  • A strong ability to develop relationships and rapport with both pupils and parents

Your role as a SEN Play Worker would involve developing, planning and organising play activities for the children. You would also use these play activities to help children to develop socially and emotionally. This would include supervising children for fair behaviour during play, dealing with any minor injuries

The school is located in Bolton and has excellent public transport links particularly by train and bus within a few minutes walk of the school.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
