Physical Education Teacher for September 2019 in Romsey

The school are looking for a fully qualified teacher of Physical Education to join them in September 2019 to cover a maternity leave until the usual post holder returns. Are you an experienced and ambitious teacher of Music with an excellent track record of teaching and learning? You would be joining a high performing Sport/ PE team that offers a dynamic curriculum making the department a popular one amongst students. The school are looking for a teacher that is not only committed to the attainment and learning of their pupils, but who is passionate about improving their own knowledge and reflective.

The successful applicant will be required to teach across the KS3 and KS4 curriculum programme. Experience teaching KS5 is not essential is desirable. Despite being a temporary member of staff, you will play a pivotal role within the department and together with colleagues will continue the development of the provision for performing arts, more specifically in providing excellent PE opportunities for all.

The preferred candidate will:

  • Have experience assessing the ability of pupils and teaching the KS3/4 curriculum for PE
  • Be able to help individuals to improve their Physical Educational knowledge and ability
  • Be able to teach pupils how to play various sporting activities
  • Support students and colleagues advising and preparing pupils for exams
  • Providing detailed and constructive feedback to pupils
  • Work collaboratively with others to further the reputation of the musical scene in the school
  • Support and help run school trips
  • Be a qualified teacher or further education qualified teacher
