PE Teaching Assistant - Sheffield

  • Full time Physical Education teaching assistant (2 term maternity leave)
  • Covering PE lessons in the absence of PE staff

Our client school located in Sheffield wish to appoint a Physical Education teaching assistant ahead of the new academic year.

- Full time Physical Education teaching assistant (2 term maternity leave)

- Covering PE lessons in the absence of PE staff

- Perfect opportunity for any graduates pursing a career as a Physical Education teacher or NQT’s looking to secure a PE role

Due to an upcoming maternity within their support team, our client school wish to appoint a cover supervisor who is a specialist within Physical Education. This role will involve covering both practical and theory PE lessons as well as other subject areas in the absence of pupil’s normal class teacher. This is a rare opportunity for any physical education graduates looking to gain further experience as a cover supervisor prior to beginning teacher training in the future.



As a Physical Education Cover Supervisor you will hold a number of responsibilities including;

- Delivering full class practical lessons as well as covering theory lessons (Pre-set work provided)

- Covering a variety of other subjects including humanities

- Managing pupil behaviour and ensure then complete allocated work

- Assisting with extra-curriculum activities

Situation within the south Sheffield area, this secondary school is easily accessible from the city centre. The school is average in size and has over 850 pupils on roll and the school holds an excellent reputation for achieving excellent results. Located just a short drive from the M1 the school is also easily accessible from the surrounding areas via good public transport links
