Are you qualified in youth work/Pastoral Support and are looking to make a transition into working in secondary education?
If so, please see further details of an exciting, full-time pastoral support worker role at a secondary school based in Southampton.
Due to an ever increasing amount of pupils joining the school in September, the SENCO at the Southampton based secondary school is looking to appoint a pastoral support worker to join them and support identified students on a 1:1 and small group basis to ensure the students are continually supported and aided with their overall academic progress
Within the school's most recent Ofsted report (2018) the school was commended for the fact “Governors evaluate rigorously the effectiveness of leaders’ actions to improve the progress of vulnerable pupils. For example, disadvantaged pupils in Year 8 are given effective help from external mentors. The progress of disadvantaged pupils is tracked regularly, and teachers give effective, appropriate help if a pupil’s progress slows.”
