Location: Rugeley, Staffordshire
Salary: £24,944 per annum
Hours: Monday – Friday, term-time only
Do you have a natural ability to connect with young people and a passion for supporting their emotional well-being? We are looking for a Pastoral Mentor to work with students facing social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges in our secondary school in Rugeley.
Your Role:
• Work closely with students who may display challenging behaviour, helping them develop emotional resilience.
• Deliver targeted mentoring sessions to help students with confidence, social skills, and self-regulation.
• Support pupils within and outside the classroom, including during activities such as sports, art, and outdoor learning.
• Act as a positive role model, helping students develop coping strategies and long-term aspirations.
Who We’re Looking For:
Individuals with experience in youth work, sports coaching, psychology, social care, or behaviour support.
Strong communication skills and the ability to de-escalate challenging situations with empathy.
A proactive and patient approach, with a desire to make a difference in students’ lives.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
