Pastoral Classroom Support Assistant

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting Pastoral Classroom Support Assistants to work across a variety of SEN and SEMH schools in the Skelmersdale area.

This rewarding role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people both academically and emotionally. You will play a key role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, regulate emotions, and engage positively within the classroom environment.

The Role:

  • Providing classroom-based support on a 1:1 and small group basis.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils who may have SEN, SEMH, Autism, ADHD, or additional learning needs.
  • Supporting emotional wellbeing and promoting positive behaviour strategies.
  • Encouraging engagement in lessons and school life.
  • Assisting teachers with classroom activities and learning interventions.
  • Acting as a positive role model and helping pupils develop confidence and resilience.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Has experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable adults.
  • Is patient, caring, and resilient.
  • Has strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Can support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
  • Backgrounds in education, support work, youth work, care, coaching, or mentoring are welcomed.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
