SEN Classroom Support Assistant

Skelmersdale

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs? We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Classroom Support Assistants to work within specialist educational settings across Skelmersdale.

This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties, and other learning needs. You will play a key role in helping students access education, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Assisting teachers in delivering engaging lessons and classroom activities.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
  • Supporting pupils with social, emotional, and communication needs.
  • Helping students develop independence and confidence.
  • Creating positive and supportive relationships with pupils and staff.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Has experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable individuals.
  • Is patient, resilient, and adaptable.
  • Has a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
  • Can build positive relationships and act as a positive role model.
  • Team Teach training is desirable but not essential.
  • Holds a DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.
