We are recruiting Classroom Welfare Assistants to work across a number of SEN and SEMH schools in the Skelmersdale area, supporting children and young people with additional learning, social, emotional, and behavioural needs.

The Role
As a Classroom Welfare Assistant, you will:
- Provide classroom and pastoral support to pupils with SEN and SEMH needs.
- Build positive relationships with students to encourage engagement and confidence.
- Support pupils in managing emotions and behaviours in a positive way.
- Assist teachers with classroom activities and learning interventions.
- Promote student wellbeing and safeguard their welfare at all times.
- Support pupils on a 1:1 basis or within small groups.
- Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate
We would love to hear from candidates who have:
- Experience working with children or young people (school, care, youth work, coaching, support work, or similar settings).
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- A calm and patient approach when supporting challenging behaviour.
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people.
- Experience with SEN, SEMH, Autism, ADHD, or behavioural support (desirable but not essential).
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
