We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate Support Workers to join a welcoming and supportive school in Skelmersdale from September 2026. The Role

As a School Support Worker, you will work closely with teachers and other staff members to provide tailored support to students, helping them to engage with learning and develop confidence in the classroom.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups
  • Assisting students with additional learning, emotional, and behavioural needs
  • Promoting positive behaviour and engagement in lessons
  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
  • Encouraging independence and social development
  • Supporting students during breaktimes, educational activities, and school trips where required
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to support pupil progress

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A caring, patient, and empathetic nature
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to build positive relationships with young people
  • Experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable individuals (preferred but not essential)
  • A proactive and positive attitude
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
