Pastoral Assistant

A secondary school in Leyland (PR25) are seeking a Pastoral Assistant to start as soon as possible.

This role will involve, but is not limited to, providing focused support to targeted pupils in the school’s internal exclusion unit to raise achievement, attendance and behaviour, and to help them to overcome barriers to learning.

Job Requirements:

• NVQ Level 2 or above in relevant subject
• Experience of working with or caring for children of relevant age
• Experience of supporting pupils with challenging behaviour
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Good communication skills
• Ability to supervise and assist pupils
• Good numeracy and literacy skills

The school is Ofsted graded ‘GOOD’ in all areas. It has been highlighted that leaders identify needs of pupils with SEN quickly and effectively, and pupils with SEND access all curriculum subjects alongside their peers.
