Part Time Year 4 SEN TA Role- BLACKBURN
Large School located in the heart of BLACKBURN
Supportive Head teacher and SLT
SEN Support role - Experience working alongside children with Learning Difficulties are required.
The ROLE
The role is currently advertised as part time with the working hours specified as 0900-1215. The school have allocated this level of support for the child due to a recent update in the Education Care Plan. You will be expected to support the child through the working morning, specifically with the development of social skills and Mathematics. The SENCO in school has noted that the child does possess challenging behaviour at times but the biggest barrier to learning is the social and communication needs. The school have previously supported the child with temporary staff and this has been effective. The SENCO will be keen to make a smooth transition so there is little disruption. If you have previous experience working alongside children with Autism and ADHD then you will have been exposed to the types of activities and strategies required to support this child.
The SCHOOL
The school is currently graded as GOOD by Ofsted. The School is larger than average and serves a mixed inner city catchment. The majority of the children who attend school will work just below or in line with national expectations. The school does work with a number of other schools in the local area as part of a cluster, you will be expected to share best practice with other teaching assistants and develop your own practice. It has been noted that the Senior Leadership Team are very involved in the daily running of the school. They will support staff by walking around school ensuring the behaviour policy is being respected and well used. Interestingly, the school are keen to upskill their teaching assistants as part of the initial teacher training programme so there is always opportunity to extend your knowledge of teaching.
HOW TO APPLY
Registration is very smooth and efficient with Teaching Personnel. We are very keen to ensure our applying candidates have a very pleasurable experience when working through vetting and registration. You need to ensure you have a DBS on the UPDATE SERVICE and at least two recent references.
