Part Time Teaching Assistant - Cardiff

Teaching Assistants are very often the unsung heroes of our schools and this week gives us a chance to celebrate everything they do. Our Teaching Assistants not only support with pupils learning but they often provide additional support in social situations which aids with pupils development through their teenage years.

We are currently looking for a Part Time Teaching Assistant to work 3 days per week in our North Cardiff Secondary School. The pupil you will be supporting has offsite education for 2 days per week which is why you will be required to be on school site for 3 days. The Teaching Assistant will be supporting with Additional Learning needs and an anxious behaviour which can sometimes cause the young pupil to become absent in their demeanour.

You will be working alongside other Teaching Assistants to give a high level of support on a 1:1 basis but also when required you will be supporting other pupils with in mainstream classes. The school pride themselves on CPD and you will be given continuous feedback when working with this supportive leadership team.

The Role:

The school have expressed that you will be working on a 1:1 basis with a pupil that requires support throughout their education. You do not have to be an education specialist, however having a positive and can-do attitude is a must. Whilst in the school you will be working closely with the school Special Education Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) & Additional Learning Needs co-ordinator (ALNCO) to ensure you gain a full understanding of your pupils needs.
