Part time TA opportunity - Blackburn Primary School

Blackburn Primary School require a Part time Teaching Assistant to start in the second week of January.

The role will be to work from 0900-1300 with no breaks.

The expectation will be that you will work until July 2019 with the option to apply for the position to start from September.

The School is currently graded as GOOD by Ofsted.

The Head teacher is a forward thinking leader who has built a strong community atmosphere in the local area which has helped to improve attendance and behaviour.

The school is smaller than average and has a 30 intake across the Reception class. The children arrive in school working behind expected age related levels. There are also a number of children with behavioural needs and special educational needs. It is therefore important that the applying candidate is confident working alongside children with additional needs and possesses a range of behaviour management skills.

The working hours are not flexible and you will be expected to work in the KS2 year groups. Potentially, the Head teacher mentioned that the successful candidate will need to be able to work across Year 4 and Year 5.

The school is also connected to a local Diocese and so they are regularly inspected to ensure they are upholding the Christian ethos on a daily basis. You will not have to be a practising Christian but you must be able to following the Curriculum and support the children as they progress through school.

A number of candidates have already worked in this school in the last 18 months. The feedback has been very positive and notably every candidate has passed comment about the support you receive when you work in school.

This role will be pay-rolled through Teaching Personnel and so all vetting must be processed accordingly.
