 About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a pupil with SEN in a welcoming and supportive Blackburn primary school. The role involves working closely with teaching staff, SENCO, and other professionals to support the child’s learning, development, and well-being throughout the school day.

 Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 support to a child with SEN, both in and out of the classroom

• Assist with personalised learning plans and activities

• Support the child’s emotional and social development

• Monitor and record progress, communicating regularly with teaching staff and parents/carers

• Help create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing environment

 Requirements:

• Experience working with children with SEN (in a school or similar setting)

• A patient, caring, and resilient attitude

• Good communication and teamwork skills

• Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 TA qualification) are desirable but not essential

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply for one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
