Part-Time Music Teacher – Secondary School in Stockport

Location: Stockport, Greater Manchester

Contract: Temporary through Teaching Personnel

Teaching Personnel are seeking a passionate and dedicated Part-Time Music Teacher to join a vibrant secondary school in Stockport, starting in April 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to inspire and engage students in the world of music education.

About the Role: As a Music Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality music lessons to students across Key Stage 3 and 4. The role will involve teaching a range of topics including music theory, composition, and performance. The school is looking for a teacher who can create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment that encourages students to explore their creativity and develop their musical abilities.

This is a part-time position, up to three days per week. You will be joining a supportive and collaborative team that is committed to fostering a love of music in students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging music lessons that meet the needs of all students.
  • Encourage students to develop their musical skills, whether in theory, performance, or composition.
  • Prepare students for performances, school concerts, and music exams.
  • Provide a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
  • Support students’ academic, social, and emotional development through music.
  • Collaborate with the wider teaching team to ensure students’ success.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Music Teacher (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • A passion for music and music education.
  • Experience teaching secondary school students, preferably at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • A proactive, dynamic approach to teaching with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and contribute to the wider school community.
