Part time Cover Supervisor needed after Easter in large academy based in Barnsley.

"We are seeking a Cover Supervisor to join the school on a full time basis after Easter to help support within the classroom and cover any upcoming planned or unplanned absences. Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor would be preferred; however we would welcome applications from graduates considering a career in education or those who have worked in a similar role within a secondary school such as Teaching Assistants." - Deputy Head

  • Full time position as a Cover Supervisor, covering lessons in place of the absent subject teacher
  • Working at a large academy based in Barnsley graded 'Good' by Ofsted
  • Get paid a weekly wage, anywhere up to £375, dependent on previous experience
  • Further develop your skill set and qualifications through extra CPD courses

We are working closely with our client school in Barnsley as recruitment partners to help them appoint a full time Cover Supervisor to relieve the need for external cover when there are planned and unplanned absences throughout the school. This is a full time position and would involve covering a wide range of subjects, dependent on the needs of the school on the day, you may also be required to cover a wide range of roles, for example working as a Teaching Assistant if the need arises.

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering pre planned work to the class whilst covering a wide range of subjects, dependent on the needs of the school on the day
  • Ensuring the schools behaviour policy is adhered to through effective behaviour management techniques
  • Assisting the pupils with any work related questions they have as well as supporting with any additional needs, for example any SEN or behaviour related issues.
  • Reporting back to the head of department of progress of pupils within the class
